On December 24th, Joy Valley organized a one-day bamboo exploration camp. On the eve of Christmas, the children ventured into the depths of the bamboo forest, getting to know bamboo, exploring its characteristics, understanding its uses, and using bamboo to create Christmas crafts. They gained a wealth of knowledge and experienced joy.

What do bamboo plants look like? What are the different types of bamboo? Why are some bamboo plants thick and sturdy while others are slender? What are the uses of bamboo? Let’s follow the nature mentor into the depths of the bamboo forest to uncover the secrets of bamboo.

Indeed, the bamboo forest is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, and one creature that pleasantly surprises the children is the ladybug, also known as the seven-spot ladybird beetle.

Building a Bamboo Shelter

In the wilderness, how can we construct a small shelter? The children, using bamboo as the primary material and tree bark as rope, built a simple outdoor shelter. They also crafted a five-pointed star from bamboo as decoration, hanging it on the “roof” of the shelter. To add to the Christmas spirit, they wrote down their wishes, instantly enhancing the festive atmosphere with a touch of childlike wonder.
