On a rainy day full of adventure, Aisha’s first-grade students and teachers embarked on an unforgettable forest adventure at the Joy Valley, heading outdoors to explore nature and experience the wonders of bamboo in a charming, rain-soaked forest;
The positive attitude and spirit of cooperation of the students and teachers made this bamboo exploration course an unforgettable experience. Thank you for making the Joy Valley shine even in the rain.
Next, let’s review the various wonders of this course together.
Hiking in the Rain

Despite the rain, the students couldn’t wait to go hiking in the dense bamboo forest. The rain added a magical atmosphere, making the forest look like a scene from a fairy tale. The children wore raincoats and boots and played in puddles, delighted by the cool, refreshing rain.
Discovering plants and insects

Along the forest path, students discovered various plants and insects. Our mentor introduced them to different types of bamboo and forest dwelling organisms. Children are attracted by vibrant green plants and small insects hiding under leaves.
Making bamboo rice

Teach students how to make bamboo rice. The students were excitedly cooking rice with bamboo stalks over an open flame. Looking forward to and curious about the rice cooked slowly, I was excited to taste the hand-made Bamboo tube food cooked with natural firewood. It was fragrant and delicious. Every student was full of praise and wanted to eat it!
Making bamboo weaving

Qile Taoran Valley mentor is searching for suitable bamboo in the valley, explaining the origins and allusions of bamboo weaving crafts to children, and teaching them how to make bamboo weaving on site. The children are very interested and patiently listen and learn.
Planting plants

The students planted small plant seedlings distributed by Tao Ran Valley supervisor on the farm. They learned about the importance of plants and how they can help the environment. Each child planted their own plant and promised to visit it again one day.
Bamboo pentagram

The joy of life comes from creativity. Bamboo is a natural plant that can extend people’s imagination infinitely. Students divide into several teams and work together to create unique decorations using bamboo, which they bring to school as souvenirs for adventure.

Handmade Fan Painting
It was raining loudly outside, and the children paused their exploration of the outdoors. They leisurely drew bamboo fans under the sunshade, creating beautiful designs with bright colors and showcasing their artistic talents.

Cotton candy on natural firewood
The students gathered by the warm natural firewood to bake marshmallows. Children like to bake their marshmallows into a perfect golden color and make sticky desserts.

A heartwarming stone bridge

On our way back, continuous rain caused a nearby stream to overflow, and the path was flooded. The teacher from Joy Valley braved the impact of the rain and built a stone bridge on the water surface, and made a bamboo stick for each student to support them safely crossing the road. The students were excited about this adventure, and at this moment, they all felt like real explorers.
